I don’t often get jealous of celebrity weddings (it all seems like sooo much attention, work, and boob tape—three things I’m not particularly fond of), but I am genuinely envious of the Domingos’ low-key nuptials, which took place “in a small, casual ceremony disguised as a house party,” according to GQ. The guest list was just 25 people, each of whom the happy couple greeted by saying “Welcome to our wedding.” Colman wore a Hawaiian shirt; everyone danced until 4 a.m., which I guess is possible when the attendees are carefully selected loved ones and not random nonagenarian “friends of the family” who are there having a determinedly bad time for no particular reason. (Can you tell I’m already nervous about this aspect of my eventual wedding?)Official Raccoon Pizza Power Usa America Red Hat Graphic Shirt
I don’t want to reduce Colman Domingo’s life and extremely varied body of work down to his identity, especially since he’s been very clear that that’s not exactly his favorite thing, telling GQ last year: “The two things that I constantly get sent are about slavery and being queer.” But in the present moment of increasing anti-LGBTQ+ repression, there’s something undeniably wonderful about seeing the Domingos quietly and reliably step out together, even at events celebrating a film industry that often refuses to see LGBTQ+ men—and in particular LGBTQ+ men of color—for their full selves. The internet’s current obsession? Protein. Starting the day off with enough protein—a.k.a. a breakfast with around 30 grams—can have a dramatically positive effect on your day. Studies show it can help one have a clearer mind, fewer PMS symptoms, more energy, and better concentration. Here’s how I was able to up my protein consumption, getting between 28 and 32 grams every morning. And after doing it for a month, spoiler alert: I have no plans to stop.
